UCL: Former Man Utd star reacts to PSG’s elimination
The UEFA Champions League returned on Tuesday night with a clash between French side PSG and German club Borussia Dortmund, which ended in a 1-0 scoreline
Reacting to PSG’s defeat, former England defender, Rio Ferdinand said Dortmund did a job subduing Kylian Mbappe to win the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Mbappe struggle to score during both legs as Dortmund won the tie 2-0 on aggregate.
The France forward who has been linked with a move to Spanish club Real Madrid in the summer, has now played his last European game for PSG.
Ferdinand while speaking on TNT Sports, said the game against Dortment was unusual for Kylian Mbappe as he knows for impressing at the biggest stage.
The former Red Devils defender stressed that all through Mbappe’s career, he has seemed to step up, but over the two legs against Dortmund he was subdued.
Ferdinand applauded Dortmund for holding the France star down as they didn’t allow him to get one v one.
He also singled out Dortmund’s manager Edin Terzic for praise as he described him as the brain behind the German club’s victory.
Dortmund have made it to the final where they face one of Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
