Tuchel wants Chelsea to sign Manchester United transfer target

Thomas Tuchel has purportedly instructed Chelsea chiefs to seek after the transfer of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

In spite of his Chelsea side looking defensively strong – keeping 10 clean sheets in their last 12 matches – Tuchel is interested to strengthen his backline this summer.

The France international has emerged as his top target, amid speculation he’s prepared to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 27-year-old has spent the last decade with the La Liga giants however is believed to be enthused about another test.

His contract lapses toward the end of next season and reports in Spain have asserted that he will be accessible for just £51million.

Real Madrid would prefer not to lose him on a free transfer and are believed to cash in.

Manchester United were reputed to be the top choice to sign him, with Red Devils chiefs given encouragement that the 27-year-old would be interested in making a move to Old Trafford.

However, as indicated by Bild, Tuchel has asked his Chelsea chiefs to do all that they can to bring the defender to Stamford Bridge.

Intriguingly, the Blues are set to face off against Varane and Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League later this month.

As per France Football, Varane is interested to test himself in the Premier League next season.

Prior to moving to Real Madrid in 2011, he nearly completed move to Manchester United.

Notwithstanding, he chose to move to the Spanish capital and has since won four Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey and four Club World Cups.

Raphael Varane has also won the World Cup with France.
