Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, in a post-match statement has reacted to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision during their game vs West Ham United.

Tuchel Insisted that the VAR made the correct call after a late Maxwell Cornet goal was ruled out in their 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.

This comes as Michail Antonio gave the Hammers the lead in the 62nd minute before the Blues fired in two goals thanks to efforts from Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

However, towards the end of the match, West Ham saw an injury-time equaliser when Cornet fired into an empty net, but VAR told referee Andrew Madley to consult the pitchside monitor, and he overturned the goal for a foul on Edouard Mendy.

On West Ham’s disallowed goal, Tuchel said: “It was a clear foul on the goalkeeper.

“I had doubts about the first one – but I will not comment; last time, I got punished with huge fines.

“You give your opinion, you will not be fined.”
