Tuchel heaps praise on out-of-favour defender, blames his decision for his exile

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has nothing but words of praise for defender Emerson who came off the bench to score against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

Goals from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson have the blues a bragging right over the current La Liga table toppers and Tuchel has revealed why Emerson was given a chance in the team.

According to Tuchel he sent Emerson into the closing stages of match mainly as a means of saying thank you for his positive attitude.

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager stated that he has three players for one position with Marcos Alonso, Ben Chilwell and Emerson.
