Brenford star still on Chelsea’s transfer radar

Brentford’s inability to win promotion to the Premier League has supposedly given Chelsea a significant lift in their expectations of signing Said Benrahma this mid year.

Said Benrahma assumed an essential role in firing Brentford to the edge of the top flight since 1947, scoring 17 goals and nine assists in 43 Championship appearances.

Brentford lost 2-1 playoff final to Fulham on Tuesday night and report claims that Chelsea will believe it’s simpler to prise the forward away from Griffin Park.

The 24-year-old had been intensely connected with a move to the Premier League paying little heed to Brentford’s fate, with Chelsea one of the leaders for his signature because of his fine Championship form.

Brentford are expected to request a fee of around £25m for the Algerian, however, while the Blues are probably going to face stiff competition for his signature from various Premier League rivals.

Aston Villa, Arsenal, Leicester City and recently promoted Leeds United are among the other first class clubs to have been credited with an enthusiasm for Said Benrahma, who joined Brentford for only £1.5m in 2018.
