Transfer News: Arsenal pushing to sign £40M rated Premier League star

The new season will begin in the next few days with Arsenal facing Brentford but the gunners are not done in this summer transfer window.

Arsenal have set their eyes on some players and one main target they are willing to sign before the transfer window ends is Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Arsenal are “really pushing” to get a deal over the line for James Maddison this summer.

Speaking on The Transfer Talk Podcast, Sheth stated that Arsenal are really pushing to get a deal done for James Maddison from Leicester.

He noted that Leicester don’t want to sell, they’re under no pressure to sell, they haven’t actually said he isn’t for sale and he still has three years left on his contract.

However, Sheth insisted that reports have been circulating that Maddison would be open to the idea of joining Arsenal.

Though it’s easier said than done, Sheth added that Arsenal would have to do cash plus players and that would rely on Leicester taking those players.

A straight cash deal would probably be the only way Arsenal could do this deal.

Arsenal have already completed deals to bring in Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White this summer.
