Popular Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has provided the latest contract update on two Chelsea defenders, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger.

This comes as Rudiger and Silva will see their contracts with Chelsea expire at the end of the season.

However, Romano, while giving an update on both defenders in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, said there are no big chances on Rudiger’s contract situation.

He added that Silva will sign a new contract that will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until 2023.

Romano tweeted: “Thiago Silva contract extension with Chelsea is not in doubt. It’s just about paperwork to be prepared and signed in the coming weeks/months. He’s gonna stay until June 2023.

“Still no big chances on Rüdiger situation. No agreement with Chelsea, Real Madrid pushing.”

Meanwhile, both Rudiger and Silva have been impressive for Chelsea this season under coach Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel is hoping that Rudiger and the Blues will reach common ground on a fresh contract before the end of the season as it would be a blow on the west London side to lose a player like the German defender.
