Transfer Deal: Guardiola reportedly wants Everton defender at Manchester City in January

Manchester City are not giving up in their quest to win back the Premier League title they lost to Liverpool last season as they’ve been linked with another experience defender.

Pep Guardiola side has not been consistent this season as they’ve been dropping valuable points especially at their home ground where West Brom snatched a point last time out.

The Citizens got back to winning ways with an hard fought victory over Southampton on Saturday and much focus have been placed on their backline.

According to Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola is now eager to sign Everton left back Lucas Digne during the January transfer window.

Benjamin Mendy’s form and injury record has become a headache for Pep Guardiola and he hopes to bring Lucas Digne to the club so as to serve as better replacement and competition for the Frenchman.

Manchester City have also been linked with Ajax ace Nicolas Tagliafico but Guardiola fancies Digne, having impressed in the Premier League for more than two years.

Digne has been putting up impressive performance ever since he joined Everton.

The Brazilian has four assists in just eight Premier League games this season, whilst his total record for Everton now stands at five goals and 17 assists in 87 games.
