Transfer deadline: Tottenham could hijack Chelsea’s target

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with new moves for Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.
As the summer transfer window draws to an end, the reports disclosed that the Hotspurs could hijack Simons from Chelsea.
According to BILD, the Leipzig star has flown into London for transfer talks.
Simons who was reported to cost up to £60 million, was linked to Chelsea early in the summer window.
With the Blues yet to complete the moves, there are now speculations that they could lose him to their London rivals.
Club officials have revealed that Simons has been “released until further notice for future discussions”.
While the North London club have not yet submitted an official bid, they are reported to have held introductory talks with Leipzig over a potential move.
It is no news that Tottenham manager, Thomas Frank, is keen on bringing in an attacking midfielder, following long-term injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Recall that Tottenham lost the chance to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace after their neighbours Arsenal hijacked him, and signing him as their latest signee in the summer transfer window.
We will have to wait and see the Premier League club Simons will end up joining.
