Italian club AC Milan has landed a transfer blow on Chelsea ahead of the start of the summer transfer window.

This comes as AC Milan in a latest update have ruled out chances of selling their goalkeeper Mike Maignan after the Blues made contact with the club to enquire about the possibility of signing him.

Chelsea’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding a new goalkeeper to his squad ahead of next season.

According to the report, Pochettino’s priority this summer is to sign a new goalkeeper alongside a new midfielder and striker.

The duo of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy are said not to be in Pochettino’s plan and would be allowed to leave if any club offers to sign them.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been heavily linked with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana and Brentford’s David Raya, but Maignan is the new name to emerge on their radar.

A report via French outlet L’Equipe revealed AC Milan’s hierarchy have no intention of letting Maignan leave and will rebuff Chelsea’s interest.

Milan are said to value Maignan at €60million (£ 51 million).
