Top EPL manager undergoes worst defeat after signing new contract

Manchester City manager Pep Gaurdiola trended following his side’s unexpected defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The Citizens defeat to the Hotspurs comes barely a few days after Guardiola extended his deal by two years.

Following Man City’s defeat, fans mocked Guardiola with chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” as his side slumped to a fifth successive defeat this season.

The current Premier League champions returned to action after the international break with five points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Recall that Man City had also lost four matches on the bounce before the November international break.

Guardiola’s side hope of bouncing back were dashed with an early brace from James Maddison.

Pedro Porro added a third in the second half, before Brennan Johnson scored a late goal to seal a famous 4-0 win for the visitors, who move into the top six.

During the match, Guardiola cut a frustrated look on the touchline as he watched his side fall further behind in the title race, action which saw the travelling Tottenham Hotspur fans taking the opportunity to rub salt into his wounds with their mischievous chant.

Man City may struggle to maintain their hold in the Premier League this season.
