Rudi Voller has emphasized his admonition that Kai Havertz won’t join Chelsea this summer for anything short of the Bundesliga club’s valuation.

The two clubs are currently negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen waiting for a fee of around £90m, however Chelsea’s most recent offer is said to have fallen as much as £20m short of the asking price.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has just included Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to his forward line, but he remains edgy to sign Kai Havertz and is said to baffled as the deal delays.

Chelsea start their new Premier League season against Brighton in three weeks’ time and any further delay would almost certainly mean Kai Havertz would have to wait to make his debut to permit him an opportunity to integrate with his new teammates.

Chelsea are, in the mean time, set to continue with their summer spending binge by signing the England international Ben Chilwell.

Ben Chilwell had been Frank Lampard’s best option left-back target and progress over a £50m deal has been made through the span of the last 24 hours.
