Ahead of Manchester United’s match vs Sheffield United, manager Erik ten Hag has sent a message to goalkeeper Andre Onana to step up his game.

Onana who arrived at Old Trafford as a replacement for David De Gea in the summer has made errors that made Man Utd lose some points this season.

While the Cameroon star has been praised for his distribution, he has come under fire after mistakes against Bayern Munich, Galatasaray and Brentford.

And Ten Hag is adamant that Onana will start to show more consistency.

“‘For Andre, it is good to know, from that little bit of history, but also we live now and we live in the future. He has to make his future by making better performances.

“I’m sure he will do that and he has already shown that so many times in big clubs like Barcelona when he was young. At Ajax, he was in the semi-final of the Champions League. He was in the final of the Champions League [last season with Inter],” Ten Hag said.
