Man Utd striker and Portugal International Cristiano Ronaldo has come under massive criticism over his action during their game vs Tottenham.

Reacting, Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag said he was forced to punish Ronaldo, who has walked out on the team for the second time this season.

The first time was during the Man Utd game vs  Real Vallecano in a preseason friendly.

Owing to his action, Ronaldo has been dropped for Saturday’s Premier League clash at Chelsea after he walked down the tunnel before the end of their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Ten Hag has now revealed the previous incident that led to the latest saga.

“After [Ronaldo left early against Rayo] Vallecano, I told him it was unacceptable but not him everyone, this is the second time, there are consequences. We miss him tomorrow.

“It’s a miss for the squad but it’s important for the attitude and mentality of the group and now we have to focus on Chelsea as that is important,” Ten Hag said.
