AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is keen on adding Chelsea centre-back Trevor Chalobah to his squad in the January transfer window.

The report revealed the Italian side are considering a loan transfer for Chalobah, who has four years left on his current deal with Chelsea.

Chalobah was linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge during the summer but he remains at the club, where he is unused.

The centre-back was an unused substitute during Chelsea’s game vs RB Salzburg in the UCL and their new manager Graham Potter’s debut game.

According to Football Transfers, Chalobah is likely to leave the Blues on loan during the January window, and Roma are currently at the head of the queue for his services, with Mourinho keen on a deal.

The report claimed that Aston Villa had been interested in his signature over the summer, but are no longer in the race.

Italian clubs Inter Milan and AC Milan were also said to have been linked with moves for Chalobah during the recent transfer market before moving on to other targets.

Chelsea doesn’t consider a permanent exit for the defender but they would be willing to let him leave on a short-term basis when the winter window opens for business.
