Reports: Portuguese star rejects Arsenal move

Portuguese attacker Bernardo Silva is keen on leaving the Manchester City this summer but he will not be joining Arsenal as he rejected the move, according to Portuguese journalist Felipe Dias.

Bernardo Silva has played an important role under the guidance of Pep Guardiola but the Portuguese wants a new challenge this season.

With the signature of Jack Grealish already completed, there are assurance that Bernardo Silva will leave this summer with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid linked with his services.

Arsenal were also interested in the former Monaco player but he will not be joining Mikel Arteta’s team.

Portuguese journalist, Dias while speaking to Transfer Talk stated that the information he have is that Bernardo has made it pretty clear that this is the right time for him to leave.

He did want to go to Barcelona. He wanted to live in Barcelona and play for Barcelona but Barcelona is going through such a big crisis that they can’t afford a player like him at the moment.

Dias noted that the latest information heard is that Bernardo has rejected a move to Arsenal.

According to Dias, it’s that’s the case, it’s right because he does not that would be a step forward in his career.

So, as it stands, Bernardo does want to leave City, but there’s a big question mark as far as where he will go.

Bernardo Silva currently has four years left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium,
He played a part in Manchester City’s loss to Leicester City during the Community Shield match last weekend.
