PSG leading the race: Chelsea to miss out on signing this Napoli star

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could soon find himself playing the French Ligue 1 as a recent report revealed he is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain for €120million (£103m/$129m).

The move by PSG is a blow to Chelsea’s transfer plans as the Blues were previously tagged as favourites to sign the Nigerian forward.

Aside from Chelsea and PSG, there are reports of several top clubs in Europe eyeing a move for the Super Eagles striker this summer.

A report via Italian outlet Il Mattino revealed negotiations between Napoli and PSG are reaching an advanced stage for the player.

The reports revealed that PSG are determined to outclass rivals like Chelsea in the race for his signature.

The French side are ready to pay Osimhen’s €120m release clause and offer him a four-year contract worth €13m (£11m/$14m) per season.

Chelsea will be unable to meet up as they are under financial constraints and are at a point where they must comply with the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Regulations (PSR) which means they have to pull out of the race.
