Chelsea’s impressive win against Tottenham has continue to trend, with the Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino applauding Noni Madueke for his display of support for Alfie Gilchrist on right wing.

Recall that the Blues defeated Tottenham 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, as they finally moved from 9th spot to the 8th place on the league table.

Chelsea won the game thanks to efforts from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson.

Pochettino in a post-match statement emphasised the importance of a strong response after a string of disappointing results.

Unlike Chelsea, Tottenham fell off with their lacklustre display, which left their manager Ange Postecoglou, frustrated as he was visibly angry with Cristian Romero and Pape Matar Sarr in the first half.

The Hotspurs chances of playing in the Champions League next season is out of the way as they have to focus on finishing in the top six to get a chance to play in the Europa.

Chelsea youngster Gilchrist was impressive for the Blues in his second Premier League start, displaying his talent on the right side of Pochettino’s defence, effectively neutralising the threat of a more experienced Son Heung-min.

Pochettino attributed the young star’s performance to Madueke who held the back line.
