Pochettino reveals Nkunku’s problem at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has identified former RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku’s problem at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino in a post-match statement said Nkunku is still ‘far from his best’ despite putting up top form in Chelsea’s Premier League 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

Mykhailo Mudryk scored the opening goal for the Blues while Noni Madueke scored a penalty in the 89th minute to secure all three points for the Blues against Palace.

Nkunku played well as an advanced midfielder before he was shifted out wide for the final stages of the encounter.

The France star was involved with just about everything Chelsea at the front, however, Pochettino wants to see more from him.

“The problem is that Christopher Nkunku is still far away from his best,” Pochettino told Amazon Prime.

“He is a very intelligent player. He can connect [us]. We missed this kind of playmaker.

“Nkunku can do this, but he is more of an offensive player, who is going to go forward and have space in-between the lines.”
