Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario would have bagged six Ballon d’Or awards ahead of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo in his career had he remained fit.

Ferdinand made this known while appearing on his YouTube podcast, Vibe with Five.

He insisted that the two-time Ballon d’Or winner would have added four more awards to his collection if he had stayed fit.

A total of six Ballons d’Or awards would place Ronaldo second on the all-time list, behind Lionel Messi and one ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

“If he doesn’t get injured, he probably gets six [Ballon d’Or awards],” Ferdinand said.

Ronaldo, who is now 47, has since retired from the game.

The Brazilian played for top European clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
