Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli who has been making headlines after he shared details about his struggles has named Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino as the best manager he worked under in his professional career as a footballer.

Alli, who played under Pochettino during their time together at Tottenham, said their relationship was beyond coach and player relationship.

Speaking with Gary Neville on The Overlap series, Alli said: “Mauricio Pochettino was the best manager [I played under] and I could not have asked for a better manager at the time.

“I was with him and his team, you know, not just him. There was Jesus [Perez], Miguel [d’Agostino] and Tony [Jimenez].

“They are amazing people and they are so understanding, and it was not like a footballer and a manager relationship. It was deeper than that, I felt.”
