Only way Man Utd can finish in the top four

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has revealed the only way he believes Man Utd can finish in the top four on the league table.

According to Merson, Man United must defeat Tottenham on Sunday to stand any chance in the EPL top four.

Merson while speaking via Sportskeeda, also tipped the game at Old Trafford to have a “lorry-load of goals.”

Man United go into this weekend’s match sitting in eighth place, nine points off fourth-placed Arsenal and eight off Tottenham in fifth.

If the results end in a favourable result for Spurs, Ange Postecoglou’s men could jump up to second.

Merson said: “If Tottenham win this, they’ll leapfrog Arsenal in the table, meaning the Gunners drop out of the top four.

“Manchester United, on the other hand, are nine points behind Arsenal and face an uphill battle to secure a UEFA Champions League spot next season. They need to win this game to stand a chance of finishing in the top four, but they haven’t been consistent this season.”
