Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo in a recent statement has applauded Cole Palmer for his impressive form for the Blues.

This comes as Chelsea were able to hold Man City to a draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday thanks to an injury-time penalty from Palmer against his former side.

The Blues were awarded a spot-kick during Sunday’s draw with City, with Palmer the player entrusted with penalty-taking duties in front of the Matthew Harding Stand.

The summer signing made no mistake from 12 yards, sparking wild celebrations inside Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo in his statement said he did not doubt in mind that the recent England call-up would score because of how well he is playing in Chelsea blue right now.

‘We trust Cole very much,’ added Moises. ‘He’s a very talented player and a very good penalty taker, so we were all very confident when he stepped up.

‘He is showing his best form at the moment and proving just how good a player he is. We are very happy for Cole and very happy he is playing so well for Chelsea.’
