Messi needs to retire before anyone can be rated best – EPL star

Manchester City star Haaland in a recent statement said Inter Miami and Argentina star Lionel Messi needs to retire from football before anyone could be regarded as the world’s best.

Haaland made this known while addressing the press on Tuesday ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie with FC Copenhagen on Wednesday.

“Maybe he [Messi] has to retire for someone else to be regarded as the best,” Haaland said (via Barca Universal).

Messi has continued to dominate the football world and is widely considered as the greatest footballer on the planet.

Recall that the Argentina captain defeated Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to win the 2023 Balloon d’Or.

The former Barcelona forward also has a World Cup to his name having led Argentina to victory at the Qatar 2023 tournament.
