Manchester United Backed to Beat Arsenal and Tottenham in £85m Transfer Race

Manchester United have been backed to beat Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, despite fierce competition for the Italian international.
Tonali has become one of Newcastle’s standout performers under Eddie Howe, establishing himself as a key figure in midfield. However, after the Magpies failed to secure Champions League qualification, speculation over his future has intensified, with several Premier League giants monitoring his situation.
Tottenham are currently reported to be leading the pursuit as they look to strengthen Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield ahead of the new season. Spurs have already seen an opening £75 million bid rejected by Newcastle but remain optimistic that an offer in the region of £85 million could eventually secure the deal.
Arsenal are also firmly in the mix, with reports suggesting Tonali would be open to joining Mikel Arteta’s side. The Gunners have admired the midfielder for some time and view him as an ideal addition to their squad as they continue to challenge for major honours.
Despite the strong interest from both North London clubs, former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister believes the Red Devils should not be ruled out. He feels Tonali possesses the qualities needed to transform United’s midfield and would be an excellent fit under Michael Carrick.
While Manchester United’s financial position remains uncertain, Pallister believes the club’s stature and long-term ambitions could still make them an attractive destination. As the transfer window unfolds, Tonali’s future is shaping up to be one of the summer’s most closely watched transfer stories.
