Premier League heavyweights Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of highly rated Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, following comments from the French club’s president, Olivier Létang.

Létang dismissed reports suggesting Lille have placed an €80-100 million (£68.5m-£85.7m) price tag on the teenage star. However, he admitted that only a small number of clubs would be financially capable of securing the midfielder’s signature, underlining just how highly the club values one of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Bouaddi has enjoyed a remarkable rise since breaking into Lille’s first team in 2023. Still only 18, he has already accumulated close to 100 senior appearances, establishing himself as one of the most exciting midfield prospects in European football.

His reputation has grown even further during this summer’s FIFA World Cup, where his composed displays in midfield have helped Morocco reach the quarter-finals. His maturity, technical quality and ability to dictate play have attracted attention from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Arsenal are understood to have opened discussions with Lille over a potential transfer, while Manchester United continue to monitor the situation closely. Chelsea also remain firmly interested as they look to strengthen their midfield with elite young talent.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are reportedly considering a different approach by signing Bouaddi permanently before allowing him to remain at Lille on loan, giving him another season of regular first-team football while continuing his development before making the move to the Premier League.
