Man Utd sluggish player revealed

Former Man Utd player Paul Scholes in a recent statement has expressed worry for Raphael Varane who he said look sluggish and can’t keep fit.

So far this season Varane’s form has been questionable. He has already missed a month of the campaign due to injury.

The Frenchman caused Kerem Akturkoglu’s equalizer, when he drifted out wide and allowed a pass through his legs during Man United’s recent Champions League 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray.

Varane was slow to close down Mauro Icardi before he chipped goalkeeper Andre Onana to score the winner.

The defender who joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid in 2021, arrived at Old Trafford as one of the most decorated players in world football.

“I worry about Varane a bit, he has been one of the very best defenders around, in that same ilk at Real Madrid,” Scholes said to TNT Sports.

“I just think his legs are looking sluggish, he can’t keep fit and I worry about him

“Really disappointed. I actually don’t think they played that badly. All the talk before the game was that they couldn’t really score goals and there was a lack of goals in the team.

“We were successful a couple of times which led to big goals for us, so I am delighted with the players’ commitment.”
