Man Utd player tipped to benefit from Benzema’s possible move to Old Trafford

Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has named Rasmus Hojlund as the player who would greatly benefit if Karim Benzema arrives at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand is, however, not certain the Red Devils can afford to sign the striker in the ongoing January transfer window.

There are reports that Benzema favours a return to Europe, only months after leaving Spanish club Real Madrid to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad.

It was reported that the 36-year-old French striker was not present for Al-Ittihad’s pre-season preparations, putting his future at the club in doubt.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on signing support up front for Hojlund, 20, who scored only his second Premier League goal in the side’s 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham at the weekend, and Benzema is being considered a possible solution upfront.

Ferdinand said on FIVE YouTube channel: “That’s just going back to old, what we’ve been doing before.

“We’ve done it with Cristiano, we’ve done it with Falcao, we’ve done it with Cavani, we’ve done it with Zlatan…

“Listen, Benzema… how can you say no? How can you say no to that signing?”
