Man Utd make offer to Chelsea target

Man Utd have joined Chelsea in the race for Brentford star Christian Eriksen.

The Athletic reports that Man Utd have gone a step ahead to submit an offer for Eriksen.

Eriksen will become a free agent when his current contract at Brentford expires on June 30.

The reports revealed that Man United’s new manager Erik ten Hag wants Eriksen in his squad ahead of next season.

While Ten Hag views Eriksen’s former Ajax team-mate, Frenkie de Jong, as his primary target, he would still be glad to sign the 30-year-old as an alternative option.

Recall that Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Euro 2020, but has managed to kickstart his remarkable return to football with Brentford in January.

He scored a goal and registered four assists in 11 appearances last season to keep Brentford in the top flight.

Man United were keeping tabs on Eriksen’s progress and were reportedly happy with what they had seen.

We will have to wait to see if the deal would go through this summer.
