Man Utd lead race to sign Chelsea striker

With less than three weeks to the start of a Winter transfer window in January, there are bounds to be different transfer rumours.

One of such popular transfer rumours is the one involving Man Utd and Chelsea over Germany international Timo Werner.

According to El Nacional, Manchester United are in the frontrunner to land Chelsea and Germany star Werner in the coming transfer window.

Man Utd new interim coach Ralf Rangnick worked with Werner at RB Leipzig and knows more about the striker’s strengths and potential.

The reports claim the German manager is keen on reuniting with his star forward at Old Trafford.

Werner is still struggling to find his feet at Chelsea, which was part of the reason the Blues went on to re-sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku in the recent summer transfer window.

Even though Werner is struggling to perform at Stamford Bridge, it is very unlikely that the Blues will agree to sell the German striker to Man Utd, who happens to be one of their rivals in the EPL.

And also, Chelsea will have to sign a new striker before letting Werner leave.
