Maguire threatens to leave Man Utd over part time roles

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has sent a message to the club’s manager Erik ten Hag.

Maguire threatened to leave Old Trafford in the January transfer window if he continues to get a part-time role at the club.

Recall that Ten Hag made headlines after he replaced Maguire as captain of the team before the new season commenced

The England international was given a first start in the league against Brentford with six other defenders injured.

Maguire impressed for the Red Devils after he set up Scott McTominay’s winner in a 2-1 win last Saturday.

However, the 30-year-old defender is likely to return to the bench once the likes of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are fit again.

“I am not going to sit here all my life and play once a month. If it carries on I am sure myself and the club will sit down and have a chat about things.

“It’s not my decision whether I start the next game for United or not. In a couple of weeks, I’ll go back and find out,” Maguire said, ahead of England’s double-header against Australia on Friday and Italy on Tuesday.
