Former Liverpool player, Dean Saunders has sent a message to his old club to make a move for Chelsea star Reece James this summer.

According to Saunders, James, who has made 147 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, with 11 goals and 20 assists to his name, is a great footballer.

James struggled last season as it was an injury-plagued campaign for him.

He made only 24 appearances across all competitions for the Blues last season, scoring twice and providing as many assists.

Speaking about the England international, Saunders said on talkSPORT: “I think maybe they [Liverpool] need another centre-back. Sign Reece James from Chelsea.

“Sign him if he can stay fit. He’s a great player.”

There are no details on whether Chelsea are ready to let James leave this summer, however, the Blues may consider his transfer tor the right offer from any interested club.
