Liverpool reportedly end pursuit of experience midfielder after being priced out

Liverpool have continued to search the transfer market for a player that will replace Georginio Wijnaldum, but that player will not be Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.

The reds have reportedly walked away from signing Youri Tielemans after being priced out by Leicester City.

Wijnaldum completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain some weeks ago, and Liverpool have a void to fill in midfield with Tielemans identified as the perfect replacement.

Though some reports claimed the Belgium international prefers a move to Anfield, Liverpool have not been able to agree on a transfer with Leicester City.

A new report from The Telegraph has now claimed that Liverpool are reluctant to shell out a mammoth fee and are not considering an approach for Tielemans this summer.

The report added that Leicester are confident that Tielemans will remain at the club for the foreseeable future.

They are also willing to tie him down with a long term contract, and he is expected to sign ahead of the coming season.

Tielemans has become an important player in Leicester City’s set-up. He scored a stunning winner to help Leicester get their hands on their first-ever FA Cup last term.
