Liverpool confirms signing this 22-years-old from RB Leipzig

Liverpool in the latest statement have confirmed a new addition to their squad ahead of next season.

This coed as the Reds recently announced via that official website the signing of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

The report revealed that the 22-year-old has undergone his medicals and would be available at Anfield next season.

“I’m really happy to be joining such a massive club like Liverpool,” Konate told Liverpool’s website.

”It’s a really exciting moment for me and my family and I am really looking forward to meeting my new teammates, the staff and getting started on this new chapter,”he added.

The France international however revealed that he is focused on the U21 European Championships with his home country for now.

Konate has made 66 appearances for Leipzig with two goals to his name.

He is expected to strengthen the Reds defence line as a centre back defender.

The addition of Konate to Liverpool’s squad is an indication that they are serious about contending for the EPL title next season.

Liverpool struggled to finish in the top four this season as they had a lot of tough time especially with the absence of Virgil Van Dijk, however, they made it to the fourth spot on the log table.
