Lampard names one player who could be Chelsea’s future

Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard has named Enzo Fernandez as the player who could be the future of the club.

Recall that with the approval of the Blues co-owner, Toddy Boehly, the club splashed £107million to sign Fernandez from Benfica in the January transfer window.

However, the transfer has so far been underwhelming, even though Fernandez has created the spark in some games and could very well eventually meet his potential.

Despite the millions they have splashed in two transfer windows, Chelsea continue to struggle as they are currently out of the top six on the league table.

Lampard told reporters on Tuesday: “For a young player to achieve what he’s achieved in this footballing year is amazing.

“It’s a difficult moment to come to the club, but it’s a challenge that will make him better. He is the future of Chelsea.”

Meanwhile, the Blues will return to action on Wednesday when they face Brentford.
