Italian star names Chelsea teammate as shock Ballon d’Or contender

Chelsea victory against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final has seen some of their players tipped to win Ballon d’Or.

N’Golo Kante has been tipped to win the prestigious award ahead of other top stars. Still, Lorenzo Insigne has insisted that Italian teammate Jorginho deserves to be shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or.

Jorginho played an essential part in the Champions League victory over Manchester City and have also been impressing for Italy at the ongoing Euro 2020.

When asked if Jorginho would deserve the Ballon D’or award, Lorenzo Insigne stated that Italy have quality players and when speaking about Jorginho and it’s correct.

Lorenzo Insigne stated that Jorginho spent some fantastic years at Chelsea, and he is proud to have him in the Italian team.

He noted that despite that he’s not the one deciding if Jorginho deserves the Ballon d’Or, but he hopes the Chelsea star get shortlisted,

Lorenzo Insigne insisted that Jorginho deserves a place on the Ballon d’Or list as he’s a great player he calls him the professor.

Jorginho spent four years alongside Insigne at Napoli before completing a £50million move to Stamford Bridge.
