Inter goalie described as a sensible choice for Man Utd

Former Chelsea player, Tony Cascarino, has applauded Manchester United’s move for Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer transfer window.

According to Cascarino, Onana, who the Red Devils want to sign as David de Gea’s successor at Old Trafford is a sensible choice.

Cascarino added that Onana is great with his feet and has a work history with Man United manager Erik Ten Hag.

Man United’s interest in signing Onana became more intense following De Gea’s exit from Old Trafford as a free agent this summer.

“De Gea’s potential successor, Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, appears a sensible choice,” Cascarino told The Times.

“He is outstanding with his feet and spent five years playing under Ten Hag at Ajax. However, he is not the strongest, and imposing teams such as Brentford and Newcastle United would test him with deep crosses.

“He has the same questions to answer as De Gea did 12 years ago. United have come full circle.”
