He is a goal scoring machine: Arsenal to pay €70 million for this Lisbon striker
Arsenal are ready to break the bank as they return to the race for Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
The Gunners are said to be preparing a big offer amounting to €70 million for the Sporting Lisbon striker.
According to CaughtOffside, once Eddie Nketiah’s transfer to Marseille is completed, the North London will submit a bid for Gyokeres.
The report added that Arsenal will make a bold attempt with an offer in the region of €70 million (£55m-£60m).
However,bSporting Lisbon are still holding on that clubs who want Gyokeres should be ready to pay release clause of €100m.
It is yet to be seen how Arsenal will convince them with their new bid.
Aside from Arsenal, Chelsea have also been linked with moves for Gyokeres as they are in need of a striker that can score goals and create competition for Nicolas Jackson who struggled to find the net last season.
Gyokeres on the other hand is a goal scoring machine. He scored 43 goals in 50 matches in all competitions for Portuguese league champions Sporting last season.
His 29 league goals made him emerged as the Primeira Liga top scorer.
We will have to wait to see if Arsenal will be able to seal a deal with Sporting for the talented striker.
