Pierre-Francios Aubameyang, father of former Chelsea forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has opened up on his son’s experience at Stamford Bridge.

According to Pierre-Francois, Aubameyang can now smile after experiencing a nightmare at Chelsea.

The Gabonese striker, who recently left Chelsea has now joined Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille this summer.

Aubameyang struggled for game time during his second return to the Premier League with Chelsea.

He was left on the bench during the majority of his time at the West London side.

“His jaw was broken by robbers at his home in Barcelona while trying to protect his wife and children,” he told L’Équipe

“At Chelsea, he played with a mask at the start. It could only be a nightmare year.

“Now it’s over. He has a smile. He knows that I’m seeing the light again because I can walk and run since my last operation. And he’s signing for OM,” he said.
