Despite extending Edison Cavani’s contract a few weeks ago, it appears Man Utd have  seen the  need to sign a new striker to their squad in 2022[tps_start_button label=”Start slideshow” style=”” class=””].

Recall that the Red Devils have been linked with moves for one of Tottenham striker, Harry Kane or Borussia Dortmund star, Erling Haaland, who they hope to bring on board at Old Trafford.

While it would look hard to pick one of the two players, Man Utd coach, Ole Gunner Solksjaer has already decided on who he would want the Red Devils to sign.

According to the Daily Mail UK, Ole Solskjaer would prefer the Red Devils sign Haaland.

This is likely because he coached Haaland when he was at Molde and believes he is in the capacity to influence the move if need be.

The reports revealed that Haaland who was 16 when Ole was in charge at Molde is still in contact with the coach.

The Norwegian is valued at around £130million by Dortmund.

However, to sign the Norwegian, Man Utd must be ready to spend heavily as he has a clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club, meaning he can leave for around £62million in 2022.

Haaland was recently named the highest goalscorer in this season Uefa Champions League tournament with 10 goals to his name.
