Gyokeres decides on joining Chelsea

Amid the January transfer window, Chelsea have been handed a transfer now in Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres.

This comes as Gyokeres appeared to have ruled out a possible January transfer move to Stamford Bridge.

Previous reports during the week claimed that the Blues had tabled an offer of £73m for Gyokeres’ signature.

Gyokeres signed with the Portuguese side from Coventry City last summer after scoring 21 goals for the Sky Blues in the Championship.

The 25-year-old also displayed impressive form at Sporting this season, scoring 22 goals and creating 10 assists in 25 appearances.

However, when asked about Chelsea’s interest, Gyokeres stated he is fully focused on Sporting adding that he is not considering his next move.

“I don’t think anything about it,” the Swedish star told Sport TV.

“I’m here and we have important games to play, I’m focused on that.

‘There’s a lot of talk on social media and elsewhere, but I am not focused on that. I don’t think about anything else. I’m here right now. I am 100% focused on this and the club.”
