Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola in a post-match statement hit out at the Football Association, FA, for the scheduling of their FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

The Citizens managed to kick Chelsea out of the tournament thanks to Bernardo Silva, who scored a late winner as to end the match in a 1-0 scorline at Wembley.

But Guardiola’s side looked tired for most of the game, as Chelsea had more than enough chances to have won the match.

In a post-match statement, Man City boss said he didn’t understand how his side ended up winning Chelsea.

“I don’t understand how we survived today. It’s unacceptable to play today. Today is one of the greatest things I have seen from my players.

“I just want to protect my players. It’s unacceptable, it’s common sense. I’m not asking for something special or privilege,” Guardiola told reporters.

Recall that the Citizens faced the Blues after their tough game against Spanish side Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League as they were eventually eliminated from the tournament.

Man City will now travel to Brighton next in the Premier League on Wednesday, with the hope of regaining the top spot from Arsenal.
