Manchester United star Mason Greenwood has reacted to his loan transfer to Getafe this summer.

Greenwood in a statement said he is “very happy” to join Getafe, with the forward addressing the La Liga club’s fans at his unveiling on Tuesday.

Recall that the 21-year-old forward completed a loan move to the Spanish league on transfer deadline day, with Manchester United deciding last month to end his career at Old Trafford.

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has opened up on the club’s decision to sign Greenwood, which has been met with massive criticism.

Meanwhile, Greenwood took part in an open training session at Getafe on Tuesday, and he was given a warm reception by the fans in the stadium.

“I am very happy to be here. I have been training for four or five months, I am getting up to speed and have been training with my teammates and feel quite good,” Greenwood told the club’s fans.

“We take it one game at a time and the next home game is coming in a few weeks and we will try to win and do our best.”

Meanwhile, Man Utd have the option of bringing back Greenwood in January if the transfer wasn’t working out.
