Former Man Utd star claims Ronaldo was robbed of a Ballon d’Or

Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand in a bold statement claimed Cristiano Ronaldo was robbed of a Ballon d’Or in 2018.

Ferdinand while hosting a session on Vibe with Five with popular internet personality IShowSpeed, who is a diehard Ronaldo fan, was asked who has more Ballon d’Or awards, to which he replied: “Messi.

“Seven against five. Cristiano Ronaldo was robbed of the Ballon d’Or. Modric’s year.”

Croatian star Luka Modric won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 after he won the Champions League with Real Madrid in the 2017-2018 season.

Modric also played a crucial role in his country’s national team which finished runner-up to France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo, who was Modric’s teammate that season, was close to bagging his third consecutive and sixth Ballon d’Or award that year.

The Portugal forward scored 44 goals and provided eight assists in 44 matches across all matches in that campaign.

Messi is tipped to win another Ballon this year.
