Former goalkeeper tipped to return to Man Utd

Former Manchester United David De Gea has been linked with a return to Old Trafford, the Sun UK reported.

Recall that De Gea exited Old Trafford less than six months ago after his contract expired.

Following his exit from Man United, De Gea has not played for any other club.

During his stay at Old Trafford, the Spaniard made 545 appearances in 12 years and was a popular figure in the dressing room.

There are claims that some Man United players were unhappy with the way the goalkeeper was treated before his exit.

A recent update revealed the Red Devils are now considering bringing the free agent back as they are worried about the lack of cover when Cameroon’s Andre Onana leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir are Man United’s other senior goalkeepers, but none of them have made an appearance so far this season.

Man United were caught off guard after Onana unexpectedly reversed his decision to retire from international football.
