Chelsea’s former manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he felt hurt after he was sacked at Italian Serie A side AS Roma.

Recall that the Portuguese was dismissed last month following a poor run of results at AS Roma.

Mourinho arrived at the Serie A club in 2021 and led them to the Europa Conference League title in 2022.

Speaking with Rio Ferdinand for Football.com, Mourinho disclosed that during his time at Roma, he snubbed offers to take charge of his native Portugal and a Saudi Arabia club.

He said: “Being sacked by AS Roma is the one that has been hurting me more. I gave everything.

“In these three years, I refused to become Portugal’s new head coach with the best national team ever.

“I also had a big proposal from Saudi Arabia.”

Mourinho would likely return to football management soon with some reports already linking him to a return to Chelsea.
