Former Chelsea boss shares why Napoli doesn’t deserve to top Serie A table as Lukaku shines
Former Chelsea and now Napoli manager Antonio Conte in a recent statement said the Italian club doesn’t deserve to be at the top of Serie A table.
Conte made this known while addressing the press after their 3-1 win over Como on Friday.
Former Man Utd’s player Scott McTominay opened the scored board after 25 seconds, before second-half goals from Romelu Lukaku and David Neres sealed a deserving victory for the Naples.
Following an unexpected defeat to Hellas Verona in their opening league game this season, Napoli led by Conte have remained unbeaten and sit four points clear of rivals Juventus on the log.
Conte told DAZN that he doesn’t know if this is currently a Napoli squad that deserves to be in first place in the standings, but they are first and that is a fact.
The former Chelsea manager stressed that if he had been told this three months ago, it would have been difficult to for him to believe.
Conte stated that Napoli are growing in terms of temperament, and in their ability to adapt-playing good football.
Recall that Napoli star Victor Osimhen exited the club on loan to Turkish side Galatasaray in the summer window.
