Former Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez is ready to turn Everton into a contender for the Premier League by signing some players from the London club.

Benitez joined Everton some weeks ago after o Ancelotti left his role to take charge of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Spaniard has now reportedly switched his focus to Kurt Zouma as he hunts for a new centre-back at Everton.

Benitez has been given the license to be active in this summer transfer window with the Everton board ready to meet all his needs so he can deliver.

Zouma has now been identified as his first choice player in centre-back despite that reports on Sunday suggested that Benitez was still considering a move for former Carlo Ancelotti target Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to 90. min, Zouma is now under consideration, as he would be arriving in Everton at a cheaper price compare to Koulibaly, who has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid.

Zouma spent the 2018-19 seasons on loan at Everton, where he made 32 appearances in all competition, and he might also consider making a move back to the Toffees.
