Ferdinand speaks about former Chelsea midfielder disappointing form at Man Utd

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has reacted to Mason Mount’s performance at the club.
According to Ferdinand, Mount’s form at Old Trafford has been very disappointing.
The defender added that the English midfielder will approach the new season “like a new signing” for Man Utd, having barely received regular game time since arriving at Old Trafford due to injury setbacks.
Recall that Mount departed Stamford Bridge for Manchester United in the summer of 2023, with the Red Devils paying a reported £55 million fee for the midfielder.
However, Mount has failed to live up to expectations, scoring only four goals and creating one assist from 46 appearances, while missing around 50 games over two seasons through injury.
Ferdinand while speaking via talkSPORT said the England international has all it takes to thrive at Old Trafford.
“I saw him out in Chicago and one of the things I said to him was, ‘How are you feeling?’ Because he’s been robbed of any minutes really for injury. It’s been really, really disappointing to see,” Ferdinand said.
Recall that Man Utd finished at the 15th spot on the league table last season and failed to qualify for Champions League after they lost to Tottenham in the Europa League last season.
