FA Cup: Three Chelsea players uncertain to face Middlesbrough

Chelsea will return to action in the FA Cup on Saturday when they face Middlesbrough in the quarter-final tie.

Ahead of the match, the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that three of his players have late fitness tests.

Recall that Chelsea were without Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi during their UCL win in France against Lille on Wednesday, while Andreas Christensen limped off in the first half.

The three players are unlikely to be available for the Blues trip to Teesside on Saturday.

‘We have Reece, Callum and Andreas Christensen uncertain,’ Tuchel said during his pre-match media briefing.

‘They are in training but not in full training yesterday so let’s see. We still some checks to do, and it can be a very tight race, maybe too close.’

The Blues are favourite to win the match vs Middlesbrough this weekend as they hope to proceed to the next stage of the tournament.

They will head to the match after their win in France as Tuchel is expected to rotate the team.
